I'm pulling my 4.8 from my 99 project truck to install a 6.0 from a 2004 Escalade EXT. What do I need to worry about? I suspect injector size from my 4.8 will be too small. I plan on using my PCM from the 4.8 Silverado. Do I switch injectors? Run the 4.8 injectors? Any info is greatly appreciated..

1993 OBS (GMT400). Successfully swapped the 4.3 to a (free) 2002 4.8 (drive by wire). Am I able to use all of the "extremities" on a 5.3 swap? How about a 6.0? Naturally, I expect the need to reprogram the PCM, but intake, injectors, throttle body, etc.. the 4.8 is stock with headers. Guessing the 6.0 would really benefit from bigger TB. Thank you for getting me started.

No not everything on the trans will, also need a new driveshaft. You can run the 6.0 on a 60E. I am. My original made it to over 180,000 miles and 60,000 of those were with the LQ9 6.0. Also for a 4L80E you need a new crossmember, adapter harness, maybe a flex plate spacer, driveshaft due to length. Also since it is 4wd, something between trans and transfer case may need to be changed. Look at ...

I have a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 with a 4.8 v8, it has 298,000 miles on it right now and continues to go up. I am considering replacing the engine and would like to have more power for towing. Has anyone ever done this? it is doable? Does it make sense? What all needs to be replaced?
