Why do we dream?
Indeed, sir, the question of why we dream is one that has puzzled philosophers and scientists alike for centuries.
Some believe dreams are a way for the mind to process emotions and memories from the day, while others suggest they may be a form of problem-solving or even a glimpse into our subconscious desires. The most intriguing theory, however, proposes that dreams are simply the brain's way of tidying up its thoughts, like a housekeeper sweeping the floor of a particularly busy drawing room.
One might say it is as much an art as it is a science, and I fancy we shall be pondering this mystery for many years to come.
